Privacy policy

This policy describes how personal data is collected and processed on the site au-bout-du-reve.com, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French "Informatique et Libertés" law.

Data collected and purposes

  • Contact and booking requests. When you use the contact form or make a booking, we collect your name, your email address, possibly your phone number, your preferred stay dates and your message. This data is used solely to process your request and manage your stay.
  • Payment. Online payments are processed by Stripe. We never store your bank details on our servers; they are transmitted securely to Stripe.
  • Audience measurement (visit statistics). We use an in-house audience-measurement tool, self-hosted, with no third-party advertising service. We record the pages viewed, the page you came from (referrer), the device, browser and operating system type, as well as an approximate location (country / city) inferred from the IP address. A random identifier is stored in your browser's local storage to distinguish visits. This data is anonymised in its use (aggregated statistics), is never resold or shared, and we respect your browser's "Do Not Track" header.

Legal basis

The processing of requests and bookings is based on the performance of pre-contractual measures and the rental contract. Audience measurement, which is limited and privacy-respecting, is based on our legitimate interest in improving the site.

Recipients

Your data is only shared with the providers strictly necessary for the operation of the service: Stripe (online payment), our email-sending provider and, where applicable, Twilio (sending of confirmation SMS). Our site is hosted by OVH (European Union).

Retention period

  • Contact requests and bookings: kept for the time needed for processing and then for legal obligations.
  • Audience-measurement data: 12 months maximum, then automatic deletion.

Cookies and trackers

The site uses no advertising cookies nor social-network tracker. Only a technical audience-measurement identifier is kept in your browser's local storage ("localStorage"); you can delete it at any time by clearing your browsing data. Enabling your browser's "Do Not Track" option fully disables audience measurement.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, write to us at franck.ardito@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (France's data-protection authority) (cnil.fr).

This policy may be updated. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this page.
